This play activity can get a little messy (but it does sweep up pretty quickly) but I find it is a great one for the little ones to do while I am trying to cook a meal.
I will give each child a large container with uncooked rice in it. I then let them choose utensils from the kitchen drawers and cupboards like funnels, scoops, spoons, small jugs, saucepans. They will then happily pour and cook for ages, whilst I cook the dinner!
