We’re back continuing our cross blog conversation with Danielle of MomGiveaways.
I’d asked Danielle the question,
Danielle, I can see you are a busy mom with lots of websites. How did you discover the Internet, blogging, giveaways and think of starting your own business? and who are your biggest influencers or people that keep you sane on this journey?
She answered at MomGiveaways .
I was so interested to read that you have started things; been successful and was able to switch direction and again be successful. You started everything with a clear aim and you looked like you were single minded about getting it right. You’re also savvy enough to notice something good and make good choices with it. I hear something great on the TV I don’t often act on it. But you did.
We need more do, do, do people like you motivating. 🙂
I love when you said,
I knew I could create whatever I wanted with effort. So I started my search and studied.
Danielle’s question to me.
You offer so many things on your website. I don’t know what a Carnival is. Can you explain what it is? I also am not familiar with Bam radio. Is it a podcast? How have these influenced your blog?
A Carnival is a collection of blog posts on a specific topic. I’ve only used blogcarnival. After stumbling across the Carnival of Family life ( CFL). I went to Blogcarnival to submit my post. I searched for CFL. You submit your post, name, and few other optional extras. All the collected posts from the submitters get posted on a named day as links. All the submitters ‘toot’ about the Carnival.
I found lots of parenting blogs I love to read now from this Carnival. Just like memes you can add your meme to the Mr. Linky list. You can add new Carnivals to blogcarnival.
I like love listening to parenting podcasts. Starting this carnival made sense to continue promoting the amazing content already there and it was right for the readers of my blog.
BAM radio
This is a collection of interviews hosted by Rae Pica. Each interview is short and aimed at parents. I’m going to cheat and send you to the introductory post about BAM Radio so you can find out more. It’s a great podcast and I’m so glad to be able to host the radio here.

How have these influenced your blog?
Sometimes you can feel like a lone voice blogging because you know people come but we don’t always leave comments. Having a Carnival and a radio show changed the way information was represented here. Originally, people came for ideas or advice and would take it or leave it.
Now they come not just for activities but as a resource, to find new podcasts, articles, books to read, authors as well as play ideas and advice and they all come from multiple sources. I like sharing & encouraging and never pretend to know it all. We have plenty of play disasters too. When you come to play-activities you’ll be encouraged to try something new.
That last question was a tough one, I hope I explained myself?
How important do you see friendships and networking in achieving success in (your) business?
