I wish I could have captured my sons face when I said he would be writing with glue this morning.
Doesn’t every child wish they could just squeeze that glue bottle to the end. Well some do and that’s why we’re all thankful for stick glue! But you can’t beat good ole white glue for many things.
You may remember the stay on the road activity. Here is one to do at a table.
Gather together your materials
Make a glue line
Put up on a flat surface and wait.
24-48hrs later we had completely dry lines ( Dried clear)
We also made his name.
We grab either one and trace keeping our finger on the glue lines. We’ve added it to our playdough stash in the kitchen so he has an independent activity to do while I’m in the kitchen, and he wants to hang out. Or we can do it together. No pressure.
He’s so proud of his zigzag lines.
We’ve tried tracing zigzag lines before on paper…………not the same for my preschoolers. Maybe it is because he made it all by himself. (Except his name) that keeps him coming back and not running the other way.
Another item to add to the arsenal……………. sandpaper letters, shaving foam, pudding.
I love sensory letter writing 🙂
