[tag]Pretend play[/tag] and creativity go hand in hand. Just watching and listening to our kids we see this.
They love it when we join in with their pretend play. It helps them when we play with them too especially if we extend the play and work with them.
Rhyme time is a weekly play activity to do with your child. It’s a chance to learn new rhymes, use our toys creatively, encourage pretend play, singing etc…
How to play?
-
Take a picture or video using everyday objects from home or that you have as toys/puppets etc showing a scene from a nursery rhyme.
-
Be as creative as you can.
-
Ideally, the activity would be done with a toddler or preschooler together with a parent.
-
No need for the picture of the child or their age, unless you want to. It’s the object/scene that’s important and you working together to create it.
-
Post it on your blog and invite guesses.
-
Let your little one play along and see if they can guess Rhyme time by visiting other blogs with you..
-
Disguise the answer or post the answer later that day with full rhyme or link to the rhyme
-
Be sure to come back and add yourself to Mr Linky and in the comments section so we can find you and play along.
The whole process of choosing a rhyme; finding a way to show it and what you do is up to you. If you plan other play activities please share.
The purpose is to encourage pretend play and sing with your child in a playful setting and have fun.
Not expecting perfect shots or poses.
First Rhyme Time: Monday 15th June
Will you join in with me? Any questions?
