Are we building our families on the four pillars of “too much”
– too much stuff,
too many choices,
too much information,
and too fast?
Join the slow parenting movement and learn ways to simplify and slow down your home environment, create predictable and connecting rhythms, simplify your child’s weekly schedule, and find out the benefits to filtering out the adult world…
The Simplicity Parenting Group
What it’s about…?
We’ll be working through seven sessions together towards simplifying our parenting, to help raise calmer, happier and more secure children.
There is a brief video on the home page of the Simplicityparenting.com website outlining the movement by the Australian author Kim John Payne, and information about the parent groups here. You can also download the ‘Starter Kit’ from the home page with an audio recording and preview of the first chapter of the book.
Simplicity parenting is about simplifying your child’s environment, rhythm, scheduling and filtering the adult world, and reducing your own stress by doing so. You will also learn new tools for communication, and identifying and healing ‘soul fever’.
As part of the group, you will be encouraged to make small doable changes over our time together, celebrating both success and failure, which by the end will become a natural process for practical and sustainable changes that you want for your family.
You will receive a printed Parent Handbook that provides you with a dynamic, transforming, and practical change process that supports you in imagining, designing, and evaluating simplicity goals.
Many of the concepts in Simplicity Parenting have their roots in the principles of Waldorf Steiner education. The group will be led by Melitsa Avila, who has completed the Group Leader Training, and can be contacted for more information.
