This first Raising Playful Tots Index is a quarterly look at play based blogs from around the blogosphere. This first index is a collaboration of play blogs we have found. We look forward to finding more to add to this index.
The purpose of the index is to:
- Connect readers and great play content together.
- Celebrate, in one place, those blogs that support raising playful tots.
- Gather together a network of play blogs.
Our aim is to highlight innovative play ideas for children under eight gathered from educators and parents. It was important for us to find bloggers who emphasized appropriate early years play and those with a mix of play ideas were rated higher than one play style. For example a blog based on one aspect of play (e.g. sewing dolls) would not be weighted as much as one that focused on imaginary play, outdoor play and crafts.
These Early years play bloggers have a mixture of play based activities and document them regularly on their blogs. They may be considered crafty mums, home school mums, or something else, but they also have to have a big portion of play activities found on their blogs.
The blogs listed here are not the only blogs on play.
The index is fully updated quarterly.
