Welcome to Midhood!
It’s that time when you usually aren’t as sleep deprived as the early years. Although many of us are but for other reasons.
It’s the time when you might be returning to work, changing work/career.
It’s the time when regular schooling is beginning whether the educating is at home or in a school setting.
It’s a period that brings its own struggles and joys. It’s also the time when we often decide not to share openly as much about our struggles, but we have them.
It’s a window of time when you can develop a family culture, atmosphere and flows.
It’s the time when we’re less likely to have local meetup groups because we don’t have the stroller or babywear anymore so we might feel that our struggles are only what’s happening in our home. ( It’s not)
It’s a time when it’s not all about the age. We must adapt regularly and shift our thinking to match our diverse families and situations.
It’s not about milestones anymore but establishing routines, habits and behaviours for each child, ourselves and as a family.
There’s a lot of information about the Early Years, some more about the tweens and lots about the teenage years. Most of it a wee bit scary. If you’ve looked at your laughing, funny one minute tantruming tongue-lashing guy the next and wondering how this is all going to pan out. Stay here and let’s see if we can figure it out together.
If you’ve looked at the teenage information and wondered how you don’t want your child to be but wondered how you are going to get them to that right place of Your family way.Stay here and let’s see if we can figure it out together.
Midhood is a fantastic time to explore systems and establish family culture. It’s the second stage foundations , after the early years. So no more taking a breather and waiting for the terrible tweens and teen moments to arrive. Let’s discover together some ways to rock the Midhood by creating a family haven where your family can thrive- simply and slowly.
