As part of our quest to do more and play more outside we’re really taking advantage of the morning sun.
Today we set up butcher paper and some markers . The boys sat on the paper and tried to draw a rainbow.
It was a good exercise in hand eye coordination and crossing the midline. For more information about the importance of crossing the midline see below to make up your own opinion.
- Reading, writing, crossing the midline
- Establishing dominance and crossing the midline©
- activities and ideas
- Brain based learning
Both boys started on the left and moved to the right.
It was a lot of fun. Of course the colours weren’t the colours of the rainbow but they got the idea.
Next time I’ll use bigger paper.
There are so many ways to practice the skills of writing and reading- tracking, hand eye coordination etc and it be fun! Mixing it up is always a good idea with kids and having more than one way to do something is great for us to have up our sleeve.
Another favourite activity they love is the magnet wands .
